Students at Buckner Fanning Christian School are better prepared for life! The difference? Our curriculum
and coordinating programs are among the best in San Antonio. Children at our school are being prepared not only
academically but also spiritually, physically and socially. We prepare our students to live in this world, not of
this world.
At the Buckner Fanning Christian School, we recognize that children are unique individuals each with his or her own
special God-given gifts and talents. Our low teacher-student ratio allows instructors to know each student on a
one-on-one basis, which enables her or him the ability to meet the needs of each child individually.
Our daily chapel and Christian studies teach our students how their faith can be a part of their everyday life,
now and through the years to come.
We invite you to come experience the difference.
BFCS is an interdenominational Christian school family whose goal focuses on sharing the unconditional love and grace of God
while offering an exceptional and challenging Core Knowledge-based academic program.
We strive to teach our students to learn to love and love to learn.
At BFCS we recognize that children are individuals, each with his or her special gifts and talents. It is our responsibility
to help students recognize and utilize those gifts. In addition, we provide a safe and encouraging school atmosphere while helping our students
acquire a sense of personal dignity and responsibility. We recognize that genuine positive self-esteem rises through self-respect
as a result of hard work, accomplishments, correct behavior, and respect for others.
With an emphasis on instruction in the basic "Three R's," reading, writing, and arithmetic, we endeavor to teach through example the "Three R's"
for a happy, productive Christian life. We believe REVERENCE for God and all of His creation, RESPECT for one's self and one's fellow man, and RESPONSIBILITY
are vital aspects of personal character and we encourage children as they grow in these areas.
Our faculty is made up of outstanding, experienced educators who are committed to teaching and nurturing the whole child.
In addition to a superb faculty, classes are kept small to provide optimum individual attention for each child.
The Buckner Fanning Christian School offers classes in grades preschool through eighth grade.
Our preschool begins at three years of age.
Research has shown that the optimum class size through about fourth grade is 15 (+/-2) students per teacher. That is the goal at BFCS. Fifth grade and up are usually kept to 20 or less.
Based on the Core Knowledge Foundation's Curriculum Sequence,

In addition, highly qualified special area teachers provide classes in art, music, physical education, computer technology
and Spanish. Enrichment is offered through the SOAR (Strategies of Accelerated Reasoning) program, which encourages development of
children's creative and critical thinking skills, problem solving and analytical reasoning
as they are challenged to "think outside the box."
Tuition ranges from $2,800 per year for the three-day pre-kindergarten classes to $7,975 for middle school. Details are available in the Tuition and fees document.
Tuition includes initial supplies/curriculum, facilities/maintenance fees, technology fees and PTC Membership. Details are available in the Tuition and fees document.
Tuition assistance is available based on grant funds provided to BFCS by outside donors. The total amount of available funds varies from year to year depending on the grants made available to the school. Distribution of these funds is determined by the individual donor's request.
