Buckner Fanning Christian School students learn many aspects of the Christian Life and what it means to be a Christian today. During the class, students will learn Bible knowledge such as books of the Bible, divisions and authors. Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments help the children understand their faith. The life of Jesus is studied with an emphasis on His birth, miracles and parables, and His death and resurrection. Important Biblical figures in both the Old and New Testaments are also emphasized.
A look at other religions such as Judaism, Hinduism and the Muslim faith comprise a part of the curriculum. We believe that children need to know of the regligions others embrace around the world in order to promote respect and understanding for the differences.
Sex education and the importance of developing a healthy respect for one's body, a gift from God, is another component of our Christian Education class.
Our overall goal is to help children understand that God loves us, is ever-present and all-knowing. God takes care of us, He hears our prayers and responds, and has promised us if we accept His Son, Jesus, as our Lord and Savior, we will have eternal life with Him after our earthly journey has been completed.
